VBBSInstall is released into the Public Domain. I only ask the entire disk's
contents be kept together, just so others will have it as easy to use as
you did.
What is VBBSInstall?
VBBSInstall is a program designed to aid you in your setup of VBBS. It
transfers all the appropriate files from your VBBS: disk onto another
disk or harddrive.
Operation:
All you need to do is type in a new location where you wish to store
VBBS. Select 'ACCEPT' to start the copy process.
examples:
1) Work:vbbs
2) Work:terminalPackages/VBBS
Watch out for a couple of things when doing this. Make sure the disk you
are using to copy over the files is called 'VBBS:'. The another to watch
for is to make sure you don't indicate two new directories. What I mean
by this is do not type in a path where two or more of the directories have
to be created. It's ok if one of them has to be, but not two.
example:
Let's say that you have the following directories on your hard drive:
Work:
Paint
Terms
Video
A correct location would include:
1) Work:Terms/vbbs
An incorrect location would include:
1) Work:terms/vbbs/programs
- this example forces VBBSInstall to create two directories
- you'll get an error message if you do.
If you put a device name (say dk0: instead of DH0:), you will get the
standard, please insert volume dk0:. Click cancel 3 to 5 times. You'll
get a message stating there was a problem and to read the docs. Hopefully
you'll find this explanation. All you need to do to fix this is just type
in the correct device name (DH0:) and select ACCEPT.
NOTE: Arp.library has not been moved to your libs: directory, because
a lot of you do not have a great amount of space on your system
disk if you're using a floppy. Hopefully you have read this before
pressing the 'Load ARP.LIBRARY' button.
All that it does, is copy ARP.LIBRARY onto your systems disk in
the LIBS directory. I wanted to let you know this before doing so,
you won't worry about 'VBBSInstall' writing to your system disk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.0 First public release.
1.1 A couple of small bug fixes and the inclusion of a 'Load ARP.LIBRARY'
button for those without Arp.library.
1.2 As with VBBSReader, there was problems with path names having spaces.
This bug has been now fixed. You can now have pathnames with spaces.
